Roam was founded in 2018 by people who run travel businesses and know the payment problems first-hand: quoting in currencies clients don’t understand, losing margin to exchange rates, chasing deposits across borders. We then built the team to solve them properly, bringing in leaders from high-volume fintech operations, more than 30 years of US payments experience, and the finance teams of some of the world’s largest travel companies. Today we serve more than 35,000 travellers a year and work with more than 50 of Southern and East Africa’s leading travel companies, from inbound tour operators and DMCs to lodges.
We’re a travel payments platform, powering global travel payments for the businesses that make travel happen. Our mission is to make paying for travel as simple and certain as booking it, wherever your travellers come from.
